French Press Coffees
If you want the maximum coffee experience, you have to try our French Press coffees. A French Press preserves coffee flavors that are filtered out with a paper filter methods.
All our French Press coffee beans are ground to order so you get the full coffee flavor. Coffee oils start to lose their luster one hour after grinding. If you drink decafe, you won’t believe how much coffee flavor is still available when you keep those essential oils in the coffee.

Tightly rolled leaves infuse into a fresh, full bodied, slightly floral and sweet cup that shows a nice complexity without being over roasted. 8/16
Rooibos Chai
Blend of rooibos with cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, cloves, and star anise. Rooibos tea contains no colors, additives, preservatives, or caffeine. According to studies conducted in South Africa and Japan, rooibos has been shown to aid in health problems such as insomnia, irritability, headaches, nervous tension, and hypertension. It contains anti-oxidants which can help slow the aging process and boost the immune system. 5/10

Alchemy Cafe and Bistro offers a suburban-chic dining environment located in the heart of downtown Gloucester, Massachusetts. Our Restaurant offers upscale casual dining at affordable prices, and our adventurous menus provide enough choices to please everyone.
A most comfortable destination
Our couches, candles and mismatched furniture bring out the best in what everyone loves about Alchemy. It is a wonderful place to hang out because it feels as much like a home as a restaurant. There are several different rooms — the brick room, the mafia table, the living room, the community table, the bar, the tapas table, etc. — each with a different vibe.
Check out our room that we’ve dubbed “The Cave”. We found it when we dug under the staircase. It is a super cozy private room with couch two chairs and coffee table. It is strategically located so you can sit on the couch and peek out at the whole scene in the restaurant. Come see.
Alchemy Drink Mission
The Alchemy Drink Mission is about making focused and purposeful decisions on which spirits we want to carry and making a wholehearted, mindful effort to demonstrate how infinite the possibilities are when you put people together who are passionate about what they do. In the end, you, the patron, reap the fruits of our labor. For every bead of sweat that comes from all the painstaking preparation, our sweet, sweet pay dirt is seeing you in sheer euphoric joy when you taste what we have to offer.
Our perfection is in the glass, and we sincerely hope you enjoy it.
Where Does Your Protein Come From?
Living in Gloucester, we are fortunate to have the best seafood right at our doorstep. Seafood doesn’t get any fresher than off the docks of America’s oldest seaport. It’s all wild caught and free from antibiotics and hormones.
Alchemy patrons tend to be more discriminating eaters than most restaurant customers. So we’ve gone on a hunt for the best meat we can find. We found family farms which certify that all their animals are raised – Without antibiotics – Without growth hormones – Without any animal by products in their feed – With lots of room to run around – With full records from birth to table.
These meats cost a bit more, but we know they are safer and tastier. We love being on the leading edge of providing you the best raised meat one could eat.
These meats are better than “100% Natural.” USDA guidelines for “100% All Natural” simply requires no artificial ingredients and minimal processing. The guidelines do not address the treatment of animals, type of feed, or use of antibiotics.
Catering from Alchemy
Alchemy offers catering services on multiple levels. We offer full service catering at your place or ours, or we can make your party food for delivery or pickup. Our approach is wide open — you can come to us with a menu in hand or we can help you create a menu that is absolutely ‘you’ from scratch.
